Cowrie Cottage is ideally located for exploring the two cities of northern Scotland, Aberdeen and Inverness, being almost equidistant between them. The historic cathedral town of Elgin and Royal Burgh of Banff are a short drive away. With miles of unspoiled coastline, interspersed with pretty fishing villages, castles, distilleries and ancient stone circles it provides a superb base from which to explore this beautiful and fascinating area.
The Moray Coastal Trail passes through just a few yards from the cottage. This spectacular cliff top route starts in the attractive seaside town of Cullen, taking you over the Cullen viaduct, through Buckie, where you can join the Speyside Way, on towards Lossiemouth and Forres. Boat trips run from the nearby towns of Buckie and Banff and are highly recommended to view the sea life closer to hand. Dolphins and seals are regular visitors (and are frequently spotted direct from the bedroom windows).
